The American Martyrs parish family warmly welcomes members from the LGBTQ+ community and those who love them to join us as we journey together in faith.
The mission of our LGBTQ+ Ministry is to provide a safe space for LGBTQ+ individuals to find hope and inspiration, and to explore ways for our Ministry to foster connections between its members and the parish family while being of service to the broader community. We realize that representation matters. We especially embrace those who may feel or have felt rejected or abandoned by the church. We need your voices and your stories!
We gather for liturgies, service projects (e.g. Lenten-dinners, monthly food drive), and other events (e.g. Annual Book Club, World AIDS Day Prayer Service, inspirational speakers). Some members dialogue monthly with the archdiocese to see how we can participate more fully in archdiocesan liturgical celebrations. We share information about social events that are taking place in the South Bay and around the archdiocese. We listen to and discuss concerns of our members and the community and share opportunities for growing and learning together.
If you are gay, straight, bi-sexual, lesbian, transgender, queer or questioning, (or if you love someone who is), you are welcome here!
We meet on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm.
